Today I’m recording background noises at a park so I can added it to a scene from Twist of Fate. Doing stuff like that just makes me love the movie making process. Sometimes when you hear the actors speak, the words coming out of their mouths aren’t being said right there, at that moment. They’re actually saying those words in a studio, which is a process known as:
ADR= Automatic Dialogue Replacement
If it’s good ADR, you won’t even realize it. So the fact that I’m recording ambience to lay under a scene that has ADR, which will help it feel more natural, just goes to show you the magic of making movies.
