DIRECTOR'S VISION- BY Ka.MEEK LUCAS TAITT

“DAYS IN THE KNIGHT” is a film that I’ve been thinking about for a long time, and while shooting
my first short film “DANTE’S POTENTIAL”, I thought about how losing someone close to you could
really effect someone, especially at a young age.

In a sense, Samantha Knight’s path was already pre-destined.  The loss of her sister drove her down the
path to becoming Detective Samantha Knight.  A path her sister would have taken if her life wasn’t cut
short.

For me, “DAYS IN THE KNIGHT” came out exactly how I envisioned it.  I really love to write
characters who’ve experienced loss in their lives at a young age and the effect it has on them when they’
re adults.

Samantha Knight works on a daily bases to prevent people from losing someone they love, like she has.
But at the same time, she still needs closure.  The only way she’ll ever reach closure is if/when she finds
out who killed her sister, a mystery that’s been haunting her since she was 8yrs old.

The fact that this film has been accepted into the New York International Independent Film & Video
Festival, and will be seen on the big screen still has me shocked.

When you’re making a film, you always have great expectations for it, but when those expectations are
actually met, it makes you feel grateful because everyone involved in this film worked really hard, and the
fact that it’s been recognized makes the blood, sweat, and tears all the more worth it.
