DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHY- BY Ka.MEEK LUCAS TAITT

My name is Ka.Meek Lucas Taitt and my story pretty much started when I was a lot younger.  As a child,
I've always written stories in my little black and white notebook, and as the years passed, I finally began to
wonder who actually writes the words that the actors say.

In 10th grade I began to study the craft of screenwriting and directing.  Because I couldn’t afford film
school, I decided to learn on my own.  I bought dozens of books on screenwriting and directing films and
studied them every single chance I got.  I began to watch dozens of movies by Alfred Hitchcock, Martin
Scorsese, Christopher Nolan, Sam Mendes, Peter Jackson and Steven Spielberg.

Finally, in July of 2004, I began to write my first script called Death In 4 Chapters, which is a love
story/thriller.  I finished the screenplay in December of 2004.  Even though I was happy I finished the
script for Death In 4 Chapters, I knew I couldn’t afford to actually do the film myself.  In January of 2005,
I read a book by Writer/Producer/Editor/Director Robert Rodriguez called "Rebel without a Crew” and
that book inspired me to do a short film of my own.

I started to write a short film script titled Dante’s Potential, which is a coming of age story between a boy
and his Grandmother.  The script was finished by the end of February and we began shooting Dante’s
Potential in March of 2005.  The film was completed two months later, and while it has flaws, I’m proud
of it because it’s my very first film.

While shooting Dante’s Potential, I began writing what would end up being Days In The Knight.  I began
writing the script in April and I fine tuned it all the way till August.  My search for Samantha Knight was
extremely hard, but in August, when I finally moved back to New York from Atlanta after four and a half
years, that’s when I found my Samantha Knight, after looking for her since April.

Directing films is really something I have a passion for and it’s something I live and breathe.  Dante’s
Potential came out pretty decent, Days In The Knight is a vast improvement over Dante’s Potential but
now that I’ve done two really good short films, after two years of studying and doing shorts, I’m finally
ready to hit the homerun out of the park with my first feature length script Death In 4 Chapters.
